CNC-milled limestone relief panel for the Arteks sales office entrance in Sofia. Bespoke design, surface development and prototype review by UH Studio.

UH Studio developed a bespoke limestone relief panel for the entrance to Arteks Engineering’s sales office in Sofia. Vertically rising, softly interwoven reliefs give the stone a sense of movement, creating a calm but expressive architectural feature.

Design iterations combined visual studies, VR review and 3D-printed prototypes to compare the composition, surface transitions and experience within the entrance.

Design Process

Parametric modelling in Blender, supported by the Tissue add-on and careful manual adjustments, provided a flexible way to compare and refine the relief. Visualisations and VR placed the feature in context; physical prototypes offered another way to examine the surface.

The CNC-milled limestone result connects architectural design, digital geometry and physical production. Each representation supported a different design decision; the printed prototypes did not reproduce the final stone’s material behaviour.
